Ludo Primer!
aka Why Ludo are so awesome, and why you need to be into this band.
I'm usually quite unfussed about people reading my entries or not, but please check these guys out because they are fantastic and they deserve all the fans in the world. ♥.
THE BAND

This is Ludo! They will rock your face off.

This is Andrew Volpe. He plays guitar and sings and writes most of the lyrics. He is an incurable geek, and the word adorkable was invented just to describe him.

This is Tim Convy. He plays the moog, which few people have actually heard of and fewer people still know how to play. He's also pure, undiluted awesome.

This is Tim Ferrell. He plays guitar, and is a raw vegan. That's... all I really know about him. But he's awesome too!

This is Matt Palermo. He plays drums, and yes, he is aware that he looks like a teenager. He's often the guy behind the tour diary camera.

This is Marshall Fanciullo, who was their bassist until November 2008. He's in the tour diaries a lot, and his youtube page has the best Ludo videos, so he gets an honoury mention.

And this is Tommy Cantillon, who played bass for them on their last album and on their recent tour - he's not an official member, but he's around a lot and he's in an awesome band called Tommy and the High Pilots with Matt Palermo. You should check them out too :D
THE MUSIC
These guys could be adorable as hell but I wouldn't love them half as much if they couldn't rock the fuck out as well. Which they can, obviously.
They have an amazing range. Some of their songs are glorious pop/punk/rock:
Love Me Dead:
(even if you completely ignore the rest of this post, idec - JUST WATCH THIS VIDEO.)
Drunken Lament: on YouTube | Download
Sometimes it's beautiful and dark and haunting:
Streetlights: on YouTube | Download
The Horror of Our Love: on YouTube | Download
Sometimes they tell stories:
Lake Pontchatrain: on YouTube | Download
Go Getter Greg:
And sometimes they sing about travelling back in time and fighting dinosaurs and dragons and zombies.
Save Our City: on YouTube | Download
from the Broken Bride EP. The last song on that album (Pt. IV: Morning in May) is truly the only song that makes me feel like something has reached into my chest and grabbed something vital.
I wholly recommend listening to the whole thing in one go ♥
THE VIDEOS
GHOSTBUSTERS. This needs no explanation.
These are their first two proper music videos. They are endearingly low budget.
Hum Along:
Good Will Hunting by Myself:
(I spend this whole video shrieking 'precious!' and making flaily hand gestures. ILTHEM.)
Their new single, Whipped Cream. It's available in the US iTunes store, but not the UK one. I'm not best pleased about this.
Love Me Dead (the toothbrushing version):
Go Getter Greg in an igloo.
They have a ridiculous number of tour diary videos. It would be impossible to show all the best, so here's a compilation of Andrew and Convy dancing.
THE PICTURES aka another 36 reasons why I love this band.
They rock the fuck out:

They are precious and ridiculous:

ANDREW HAS THE TINIEST BUNNY IN THE WORLD. YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

They dress up:

(Andrew sometimes dresses like an elf. It's awesome)
Andrew really loves his guitar:

Like, a lot.

But as long as they keep making awesome music, we needn't be too worried.
There may eventually be a part two entitled 'Why this band needs a fandom, like, yesterday', but for now:
FIN!
(if you want to know more, I will happily spam you with songs and videos and even more pictures of the preciousness that is Andrew Volpe. Seriously. Just say the word.)
